What the heck is Melissa Jaye?

Hello and welcome to my exciting new project and website, Melissa Jaye. I am so excited to have you here and I can’t wait to get stuck into the nitty-gritty.

But, before we get started I’m going to tell you a little bit about who I am and what I’m trying to achieve with Melissa Jaye. So basically, I’m a graphic designer with a desire to help small business and start-ups get noticed through their branding, marketing materials and social media presence.

There’s a lot of clutter out there and a lot of people, and even big companies, telling you what you should be doing and what you shouldn’t be doing. Personally, I think the whole point of growing your network is trying to figure out who your target audience is? What do they like? And what is your voice?

I don’t believe failure should be looked at in a negative way. I think it’s a positive thing – to be able to learn from your past actions, mistakes even, and grow from there. If you haven’t made any mistakes, you’re not growing. You’re not learning.

Like every creative, I’m still trying to figure it all out. I have this desire to build the side hustle and explore my creativity even further, but I’m also having fun along the way!

In my spare-time I love to create Stipple Illustrations (pointism) using thousands of little dots to create my masterpiece. Each piece ranges from 10 - 20 hours of stippling, listening to podcasts and sometimes even watching the @girlboss rally while I draw.  I absolutely love it!

With the launch of my freelance website, I will be posting up a few blog posts including a few freebies, branding tips, DIY Materials and maybe even a bit travel.
